AUSTIN – (June 17, 2010) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved the authorization of the Executive Administrator to negotiate and execute up to four contracts on or before Oct. 20, 2010, for solicited research on the fiscal year 2010 priority research topics.
At the Feb. 17, 2010, TWDB meeting, staff received authorization to publish a request for statements of qualifications for four priority research topics with total funding not the exceed $600,000.
After receiving 15 statements of qualifications, TWDB staff reviewed and ranked them for the four priority research topics. Those topics included: Texas water system map: the compilation of a statewide geodataset and digital maps of water service area boundaries, standardizing measures of long-term water conservation implementation and short-term drought contingency plan implementation in Texas, identification of funding needs for flood mitigation planning and projects in Texas, and watershed protection for Texas reservoirs: addressing sedimentation and water quality risks.
